# Privacy Policy for MyPicker

**Effective Date: 29 October 2026**

MyPicker is a color picker app for iPhone provided by Michel Sfeir ("MyPicker," "we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the MyPicker application (the "App"), including its Share extension.

## Privacy Summary

- **MyPicker collects no personal data.** We do not operate servers, user accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, crash reporting, or any third-party software development kits.
- **Your photos never leave your device.** Images you choose are read and sampled on your device, and only for as long as you are picking colors. MyPicker saves colors, never photos.
- **Your Library stays on your device**, unless you choose to export a backup or a palette yourself.
- **Purchases are handled by Apple.** We never receive your payment details, your name, or your Apple Account.

Because nothing is sent to us, we cannot see, sell, share, or analyze how you use MyPicker.

## Photos, Camera, and Other Images

MyPicker only reads an image when you choose one:

- **Photos.** MyPicker uses Apple's system photo picker, which gives the App only the photo you select. MyPicker does not request access to your photo library. For a Live Photo, the App also reads its short motion video so you can pick from any moment. On iOS 27 and later, MyPicker asks the picker to leave out location and caption information.
- **Camera.** MyPicker asks for camera permission only when you choose Camera. Captured photos are not saved to your photo library.
- **Files, Paste, drag and drop, and sharing.** MyPicker reads an image from Files, the clipboard, a drop, or another app's Share sheet only when you perform that action. The clipboard is read only after you tap Paste, and iOS may ask for your permission.

Images are decoded in your device's memory while you pick colors and are released when you remove the photo or close the App. Two short-lived exceptions exist, both stored only in the App's private storage on your device: a Live Photo's motion video is kept in a temporary file while that photo is open, and an image sent through MyPicker's Share extension is held in a single temporary slot until MyPicker opens it or you remove it.

MyPicker does not store or transmit image metadata, such as location, date, camera details, or captions.

Picked colors are described as the colors recorded in the image. MyPicker does not analyze the content of your photos, recognize faces, objects, or text, or use any artificial-intelligence service.

## Information Stored on Your Device

MyPicker keeps a Library of the colors you pick and save. It may contain:

- Color values and their creation date and time;
- Where each color came from (for example, a photo, the camera, or a manual edit);
- The name of the image a color was picked from (such as its file name or "Camera Photo") and when you began picking from it;
- Names, favorites, tags, and albums that you add; and
- App preferences, such as the date of your last backup.

This information is stored in the App's private storage on your device, shared only between MyPicker and its Share extension. It is never transmitted to us.

Library colors have no expiry. They remain until you delete them in the App (for example, with **Delete** or **Delete Colors**) or remove the App. Removing the App normally removes its data. Your device's own backups, such as iCloud Backup or a computer backup, may include app data according to your device settings and Apple's terms.

Without the one-time unlock, Library shows your newest nine colors. Older colors are not deleted; they remain on your device and appear when you unlock.

## Backups and Exports You Create

**Backup & Restore** and **Export** create files, such as a MyPicker backup or a palette for another app. You choose where each file goes: Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, another app, or a person. MyPicker does not upload these files. Once a file leaves the App, the privacy policy of its destination applies. If you save a backup to iCloud Drive, Apple stores it in your iCloud account according to [Apple's Privacy Policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

## Clipboard

MyPicker copies a color value to the clipboard only when you tap a copy control. It never reads the clipboard in the background.

## In-App Purchase

MyPicker is free to download. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks all of its features.

Apple processes the purchase. MyPicker does not receive your payment card number, bank details, name, email address, or Apple Account credentials.

To know whether the unlock is active, MyPicker uses Apple's StoreKit framework on your device. StoreKit provides transaction information signed by the App Store, such as the product identifier, purchase date, and transaction identifiers. MyPicker verifies this information on your device and does not send it anywhere. **Restore Purchase** asks the App Store to send your existing purchases to the device. If Family Sharing is enabled, members of your family group may use the unlock under Apple's Family Sharing terms.

Apple processes purchase, refund, and Family Sharing information as an independent provider under [Apple's Privacy Policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). MyPicker does not use RevenueCat or any other purchase-management service.

## Network Use

MyPicker makes no network requests of its own. The network may be used only by Apple's system services when you use them: the App Store (to show the price, purchase, or restore), the photo picker (to download an iCloud photo you selected), and links you choose to open, such as this policy or an email to support.

## Contacting Us

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to answer you and provide support, and we keep it only as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose or to meet legal obligations.

## External Links

MyPicker contains links to this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use, Apple's license agreement, and email. Once you leave the App, the external service's own privacy policy applies.

This website is hosted using GitHub Pages. GitHub may process standard technical information associated with a webpage request under the [GitHub General Privacy Statement](https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement). This website itself uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking.

## Legal Bases for Processing

Where the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar data-protection laws apply:

- Your photos and Library are processed only on your device, by the App, to provide the features you use. We do not receive or control that information.
- Support emails are processed on the basis of our **legitimate interest** in answering you, or your **consent** when you choose to write to us.
- Purchase information is processed by Apple as an independent provider.

## Data Retention

- **Images:** only while you pick from them, plus the temporary files described above.
- **Library and preferences:** on your device until you delete them or remove the App.
- **Backups and exports:** wherever you chose to save them, until you delete them there.
- **Support email:** only as long as reasonably necessary.

## Security

MyPicker relies on Apple's application sandbox and the private storage iOS provides to each app. Library changes are written atomically, so an interrupted save does not damage your existing colors. Because MyPicker keeps your information on your device, its protection also depends on your device's passcode and security settings.

## Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority (in France, the [CNIL](https://www.cnil.fr/)).

Because MyPicker keeps your information only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the App: view and rename your colors, export a backup, or delete colors. We hold no personal data about you, except any email you send us. To make a request about an email, contact us at the address below.

## Children's Privacy

MyPicker is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has emailed us personal information, they may contact us to request its deletion.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when MyPicker's features or legal obligations change. The updated policy will be published at this address with a revised effective date. If a change would affect how information is handled, we will describe it here before it takes effect.
